Mount Creation function

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الحمد لله رب العالمين , وصلاة والسلام على أشرف المرسلين . أما بعد :

Al Quran directs our attention to the important geological function of mountains .

وجعلنا في الأرض رواسي أن تميد بهم وجعلنا فيها فجاجا سبلا لعلهم يهتدون

" And We made ​​the earth firm mountains so that the earth was ( not ) shake with them and We have made ​​( also ) in the earth 's wide streets , so they got the hint . " ( Surat al - Anbiya ' : 31 )

As can be seen , it is stated in the verse that mountains prevents shocks in the Earth's surface .

This fact is not known by anyone at a time when the Qur'an was revealed . In fact , it has just been revealed as a result of the invention of modern geology .

According to the invention , the mountains appear as a result of movements and collisions of massive plates that make up Earth's crust . When two plates collide , the stronger plates slip under the slab only , while in the fold and form the highlands and mountains . The bottom layer moves beneath the surface and form a deep extension downward . This means that part of the mountain had pierced deep down no less magnitude to that seen on the surface of the earth .

In the scientific literature , the structure of mountains is described as follows :

In one verse , this role is expressed through a mountain like a metaphor as " pegs " :

ألم نجعل الأرض مهادا # والجبال أوتادا

" Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse , and the mountains as pegs ? " ( Surah An - Naba ' : 6-7 )

In other words , the mountains hold the plates of the earth 's crust extends up and down the surface of the earth at the meeting points of these plates . In this way , they pitched the earth's crust and prevent it from bobbing above the magma layer or between slab - dial. In short , we can equate the mountain with spikes that make the sheets of wood fixed together .

Important role that the mountain was discovered by modern geology and seismic research , was revealed in the Qur'an centuries ago as a proof of Exalted Wisdom in God's creation .
